✦   The Tattoo Process

Honestly yes, but it's very manageable. Pain level depends on placement, your personal tolerance, and the size of the piece. Bony areas like ribs, spine, feet and hands tend to be more sensitive. Fleshy areas like the outer arm and thigh are easier. Most people describe it as a scratching or burning sensation. Eat a good meal beforehand and stay hydrated it makes a real difference.

It depends on the size and complexity. A small simple piece can take 30 minutes to an hour. A medium piece typically takes 2–4 hours. Large custom pieces and sleeves are multiple sessions. Your artist will give you a time estimate during your consultation.

Yes for custom pieces your artist will have the design ready for your approval the day of your appointment. Minor adjustments can be made before we start. Major redesigns may require rescheduling so make sure your reference images and ideas are clear when you book.

Yes Pelon specializes in cover-up work. Cover-ups require a consultation so we can assess the existing tattoo and design something that effectively covers it. Not every tattoo can be fully covered in one session your artist will be honest with you about what's achievable.

Touch-ups are handled on a case-by-case basis. If an area healed poorly due to normal skin variation we'll work with you. Touch-ups due to improper aftercare or client neglect may carry a fee. Wait until the tattoo is fully healed (minimum 4–6 weeks) before contacting us about a touch-up.

✦   Aftercare & Healing

The surface of a tattoo typically heals in 2–4 weeks. The deeper layers of skin take up to 3–6 months to fully heal. During the surface healing phase follow your aftercare instructions carefully. Check out our full Aftercare Guide for detailed instructions.

Completely normal. Peeling usually starts around days 4–7 and can last another week. Do NOT pick at peeling skin let it fall off naturally. Picking pulls ink out and can cause scarring and uneven healing. Keep it moisturized and be patient.

No this is completely normal and called the "milky phase." A layer of healing skin forms over the tattoo making it look dull or faded. Once that layer sheds the colors and contrast come back. Give it the full 4–6 weeks before judging how it looks.

We recommend avoiding heavy workouts for at least one week excessive sweating can irritate and infect a fresh tattoo. Light activity is okay but avoid anything that causes heavy sweating directly on the tattooed area or stretches the skin significantly.

✦   Our Apprentice Artists

Absolutely. Eric, Mousie and Roo are all apprenticing directly under Pelon a master artist with 30+ years of experience. All work is supervised and reviewed. Getting tattooed by an apprentice is a great way to get quality work at a lower price while supporting the next generation of artists.

Apprentice rates reflect where they are in their journey building their portfolios and developing their craft. The quality is still held to NBTS standards and Pelon oversees every piece. Lower rates are a benefit to you for supporting an artist early in their career.
